Final Ideas For Characters

Originally, we came up with the idea for one antagonist and one protagonist, so that the main character was getting 'stalked' by one killer. This was because it would add to the intensity of a horror movie when there is only one killer that keeps on managing to find the main character, over and over again, which is typical in a lot of horror movies. Then after a second brainstorm on the possible characters we decided that we didn't want to follow the conventions of other movies, we wanted to do something that differed from the conventions. Which is why we had a rethink and considered a different weighting of characters. On this second brainstorm we came to the conclusion that we would use two antagonists instead of one, but keep just one protagonist. This is because it can make a film scarier as it adds to the fear the protagonist would be feeling, in realising any escape would be twice as hard. It adds to the sense of feeling trapped, alone and having no one else to help you.

For the costumes, all characters will be wearing casual clothes as the protagonist will be taken by surprise and it is unconventional for killers to be wearing such casual clothes. This can catch the audience out as they may be expecting bloodied clothes or torn rags, reiterating the sense of the unconventional look. As well as the casual clothes, both killers will be wearing white theatre masks with blood stains dribbled down the side. This is because they don't show emotion, instead they show just a plain, blank look that many people find scary. The use of a mask is a tried and tested method with many films all using a different mask, and each of those films have been very scary. (Halloween - Rubber horror mask, Friday 13th - Hockey mask, Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Human skin mask)

These are the masks that the antagonists will be wearing in our trailer;
